Mourinho Ruled The Bridge

He came, he saw, he conquered.

The Special One made his presence felt by Roman Abramovich, made him taste his own medicine for kicking Mourinho out of The Bridge. Now, the Special One came back to haunt him.

Mourinho was cheered early on, and he promised before that he wouldn't celebrate any goal scored in respect for his former boss. But he couldn't help it.

Inter started off with speed and made their presence felt. Samuel wrestled with Drogba. Lucio stopped Malouda's run. The passing of Maicon, Cambiasso and the amazing Sneijder put Chelsea's backline on high alert.

Julio Cesar was out of the picture. Ross Turnbull got tested again and again. Alex, Terry, Ivanovic and Zhirkov; troubled. Easily penetrated, hardly defensive. On the other end, Men of Mourinho went hardcore. Every ball was cleared, any type of attack from Chelsea were dealt with tackles and body check.

Tackles were flying, players were diving. The referee Wolfgang Stark, had a poor game but managed to calm the game. The stakes were high, tempers rose accordingly.

Yeah, they were singing along to a Metallica's song.

I think Thiago Motta's role was to provoke, and then pretend to be injured. And he performed his role very well indeed.

Sneijder was the man. Blessed with master-class passing ability, he menaced to trouble Chelsea's defence. Alongside him was Esteban Cambiasso, Diego Milito, Samuel Eto'o and Goran Pandev. Though Zhirkov managed to clear off Pandev's ball and Milito missed a chance to beat Turnbull in the 65th minutes, Wesley Sneijder's swift and accurate long-ball found Samuel Eto'o who received it well, left Ivanovic trailing and fired it pass Turnbull.

Chelsea only had to score a goal but then, they have to score 2.

To make matters worse, Drogba got sent off with a straight red. Referee was in place for his challenge on Thiago Motta. Not actually a 'challenge', but a kick in the gut.

You should have gone with Jose when he wanted you to, huh Droggie?

Down to 10-men and a mountain to climb. Ancelotti put on a poker face. He knew it, it wasn't his day.

Mourinho celebrated, he broke his promise. Once again, he ruled The Bridge. Revenge is sweet. He left the into the dugout early. He was earlier cheered, only later to be jeered.

He's the Special One, Inter won with aggregate 3-1.
